A Good Day for the Jar..

... My friend Susan told me about a "Good Day Jar" she saw on Pinterest. and I love it.. she said at the beginning of each year you get a new jar, and throughout the year you fill it with notes about good days.. then at the end of the year you read them all!

Well I'm throwing today into next year's jar...

This morning I sent some CHA samples to Globecraft&Piccolo hoping they'd like them enough to display! .. They chose all SIX! :D AND they invited me to demo in their booth!

I also got a call from Carolyn @ Amazing Mold Putty -- and I'll be demoing in THAT booth as well!!

My CHA Badge came...

AND... PAPERHAUS magazine contacted me today.. WITH A REQUEST TO BE AN ON STAFF CONTRIBUTOR FOR THE MAGAZINE.

UM. YES PLEASE.

What.A.DAY♥

New Years Eve!! + 2012 in Review

I can't believe it's the end of 2012.. I have to admit I was a little nervous about the 21st (you know.. nut jobs n all), but it all went over just fine and we're still here to ring in 2013 :)

I've got a few projects out and about for CHA samples and publication hopefuls that I haven't been able to share.. but I can't WAIT to show them to you! I did a four mini canvas piece for May Arts, A couple of super cool jewelry pieces for Globecraft&Piccolo, and submitted a few pieces to different mags!

I've also jumped head in to teaching classes, and even though the first one wasn't live, it sure had an awesome turnout!! THANK YOU! I've since acquired a webcam and the next class will be LIVE :) Stay tuned for details!

But I'd love to take the time now to review the last year and share with you my favorite 10 projects from 2012 :)

This was for the Crop Chocolate Chocolatiers Tag exchange :) I sent my to the DT leader.. Amber! what a super cool honor :)

May Arts had a huge blog hop with all of the Ribbonistas around "Christmas Trees" This was my post! I had a ton of fun making a tree that can sit on my mantle. I love the vintage feel it has and that pop of color at the top!

We hosted a large Halloween hop at Viva Las VegaStamps! - It was hard for me to pick a favorite from all the tags... but this one is awesome!

A journal page/scrapbook layout - lots of inky fun!
This layout is about Gabe's first pillow♥
and this one is all about me!
This tag set was for May Arts.. but is definitely my favorite set so far!
This is a set of journal pages... I was honing the techniques that Ania Debrowska taught us in California in July
And this tag is from a swap that VLVS! did with Gauche Alchemy. ♥

And my first journal page that's based on my family.

I can definitely see a "STYLE" represented above, but I have no idea what it is. Maybe it's "DeeDee's Style" ?

Anyways.. I look forward to 2013 crafting and arting long into the night! I thank each of you who have come along with me so far on the journey and wish you all well on your own endeavors next year♥

Ribbonista Blog Hop!!

(apparently my post neglected to go live as scheduled.. I apologize!)

Good Morning and welcome to my stop on the Ribbonista Hop!! I decided to share with you today a brand new tradition I've brought to my little family...

CHRISTMAS CRACKERS!!

I start with a tube of some sort (old wrapping paper tube, toilet paper, paper towels.. you name it, it works!), then I cover it in vintage patterns, fill it with each person's favorite candy, close it off with ribbon..... and decorate with ribbons, tags, buttons and christmas stamps!

And this is the pile of my Christmas Crackers!!
All supplies used: May Arts ribbons (about 8 different kinds!), Viva las VegaStamps!, vintage buttons, archival ink, Embossing powder, distress ink, kraft paper, distress markers.

Don't forget to leave comments everywhere (and back at the May Arts blog!) for your chance at the big prize!!

Keep on Hoppin'!

Sneak Peek! - Winter Wonderland

I know this sneak peek is a little while in the making, but I've been really busy catching up from last month's HUGE class/kit combo and getting stuff ready for CHA.

But! Here is your first sneak peek :) Expect a lot of sneaks very fast, and a huge reveal on Sunday!

Stop by tomorrow for a fun post with Globecraft & Piccolo + May Arts + and I'm finally participating in one of leslierahye's fabulous blog hops!

Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree...

Hello :) If you're here from the May Arts blog today, welcome :) if you're not you might want to take a peek over there, as the Ribbonistas have put together some FABULOUS Christmas tree inspired ribbon projects!

With a 2 year old running around the house I didn't think it would be very smart to put up a whole tree this year, but I've always REALLY loved decorating a mantle and so made my own smaller tree out of paper and ribbon :)

Start with a piece of 12x12 cardstock, in this case I used a piece of tan colored Echo Park. Roll it into a cone, and cut the bottom so it sits flat. Grab your favorite May Arts ribbon and wrap the cone. I used SD01, and purposely made it uneven to get a little vintagy home feel. I then wrapped a section of vintage tinsel from Pink Paislee around it and glued an UmWowStudio flower on top.

As a final step I used May Arts Burlap Twine SM10 to wrap around the tree and tie on the letters J O and Y from Pink Paislee. LOVE!

I love this baby on my mantle! I also linked this beauty up @ CropChocolate in their weekly challenge for Thankful + twine. I'm thankful for being crafty enough to still participate in Christmas even when I can't have a tree, lol :)
