Here's the blog order:

1-2-3 U R Beautiful - CropChocolate Challenge

I was in a real rut last night trying to make a piece for the CropChocolate.com challenge this week -- using a handmade flower. I think it was because I had out the wrong paper...

anyways.. this morning I pulled out the This and That graceful by EP and set to work -- the flower is made from bazzill/core'dinations cardstock.

Also used: black cardstock, zig glue pen, hot glue, faux stamen, vintage photo distress ink.

Basically Bare Tag! -Time Flies-

I'm loving working with the Basically Bare products so much -- they're fun to completely alter.. fun to leave blank.. and fun to add just the right touch to.

Here is a tag I did for the blog that aired this week - Lots of distressing, spritzing, splattering, and metal alteration via markers and inks on this baby. For the bird I just did a lovely foam application around his edges.. so super cool!

Supplies used: Basically Bare bird embellishment, Paper Loft cardstock and clock, espresso alcohol ink, brads of various metal finishes, a gear style bit from the hardware store, black Memento ink, a stamp, TH Tags die, distress ink in Spiced marmalade, mustard seed, vintage photo, and walnut stain.

Curled paper tutorial

Here is the tutorial that I had posted on theCrop yesterday for the CropChocolate DT on making curled paper embellishments

Materials from CropChocolate: Fancy Pants random pack of cardstock, Teresa Collins music sheet cardstock, Walnut Stain distress ink.

Materials non CC : buttons, bakers twine, amazing mold putty, wreath, hot glue, faux stamen, pencil, water.

You'll want to have any type of die cutter and or punches as well... to cut out and make flowers for your wreath - I really do prefer the handmade flowers to the store bought ones! Ink your flower edges, crinkle and stack your layers.. insert any centers you'd prefer.. beads, jewels, pearls, fake stamen! Grab a wreath from your favorite craft store and any buttons, resin pieces, twine, and or ribbon.. and of course don't forget your flowers!! Now.. ONTO the fillers! (Twirled and rolled paper)

Steps:
1) Cut your paper into long skinny triangles. I usually do between 6 and 8 inches long. The widest part of the triangle is only about a 1/2 - 1 inch.

2) Ink your edges!

3) Lay your pieces out on a flat surface (wherever you splatter paint) and spritz with water.

4) Allow to soak in for a couple of seconds.

5A) For rolling paper beads -- grab your pencil and wrap the paper around the pencil tight and taught.. starting with the fat end of your triangle and overlapping the paper all the way to the tip of the triangle.

5B) For curling paper -- grab your pencil and wrap the paper around the pencil tight and taught.. starting with the fat end of your triangle.. but instead of overlapping stretch your paper DOWN the pencil while you twirl it around.

6) Allow to dry on your pencil

7A) For rolling paper beads -- remove your paper.. run a bead of your favorite glue at the tip of the triangle and roll back up!

7B) For curling paper -- just remove from your pencil and it will be in a stiff spiral!

8) Repeat until you have a nice pile of both

Good Evening/Morning!

Hope all is well in your crafty space :) Today I'm showing off my latest May Arts challenge submission (Which I'm also using to throw my name into the Hobby Baby design team call hat featured HERE on their blog!)

We were sent the cutest set of brightly colored ribbons to work with, and I had INTENDED to make more of a topiary piece... however one of Bethney's Ribbonistas beat me to it.. so I went with this instead :)

It's the cutest little sit on my mantle home decor piece ever! The nest is actually a large sponge that I carved out in the shape of a nest. I covered it with moss from the dollar store.. and got some eggs on sale after Easter from Michaels. I cut my ribbon into small pieces and wrapped it around my three eggs. Tied a couple bows, too! The banner is hanging from a couple of spare pencils with wooden beads.. and is made from KnCo paper which has been distressed on the edges. The HOME is from a set of smooth chipboard thickers. They came that gorgeous green color :)

Can't wait to see what HobbyBaby has to offer in it's upcoming remodel!

Awesomeness!!!

So it's definitely true that just because some things don't work doesn't mean others won't... I didn't make the graphic45 team but you've all been so supportive.. and I thank you all SO much for that! <3

Instead of making the graphic45 team.. I instead got a PAZZLES in the mail yesterday!! OH BABY!! I've already cut out one thing... Gabe's name in a futuristic font, but expect TONS of great goodies!

AND

Today I signed up for the SECOND part of Anna Debrowska's class in LA on July 28th!!!! HOLY HELLZILLA. Believe it or not this is even more exciting than the pazzles.. I've been following Anna (Finnabair) for quite some time now and her work is just plain stunning/ I drool over every last piece she makes.

heaven.. RIGHT?!
